Microneedling

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a small handheld device, called a derma roller, which is covered with tiny needles to puncture the skin. The purpose of micro needling is to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which stimulates the body's natural healing response and promotes the production of collagen and elastin.

Microneedling can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin texture. It is also sometimes used to enhance the effectiveness of topical skincare products by allowing them to penetrate deeper into the skin.

After the procedure, the skin may be red and slightly swollen for a day or two, but this typically resolves quickly. It is important to avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen during the healing process to protect the newly treated skin. Microneedling may require multiple sessions to achieve the desired results, and it is important to discuss the potential risks and benefits with a qualified skincare professional before undergoing the procedure.

At EmPower Vitality, we combine the standard micro-needling procedure with cosmeceuticals/actives such as PRP, antioxidants, DNA repair cream, and so on to facilitate the youthful appearance of the skin. Call today for a consultation.
