Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Treatment

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a cosmetic and medical treatment that uses high-intensity pulses of light to target specific areas of the skin. It is often referred to as a "photo facial" or "photorejuvenation.". IPL has the capacity to alter varying pulses to target different conditions. The pulses of light emitted are absorbed by the skin's pigment, heat energy, and blood vessels. This process stimulates collagen production, improves skin texture and tone, and reduces the appearance of sun damage, age spots, and redness. IPL has a wide application in treating different skin conditions such as wrinkles, fine lines, scars, birthmarks, tattoos, unwanted hair, age spots and so on. It does a wonderful job of rejuvenating the skin to improve its appearance.

IPL treatments are performed by trained and licensed healthcare professionals and typically take 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size and complexity of the area being treated. The procedure is usually well tolerated, although there may be some discomfort and temporary side effects, such as redness, swelling, and itching. Multiple treatments at specified intervals are typically required and can be purchased as packages.

The first step in consultation is to determine your skin type and what kind of treatment you desire. A consultation will be done and based on your skin type and condition, certain treatments may be recommended. There may be a need to do a skin prep a few weeks before treatment.

It is important to have a thorough consultation with a qualified and experienced practitioner before undergoing IPL treatment to discuss your goals, expectations, and any concerns you may have. Your practitioner can help determine if IPL is right for you and what you can expect from the procedure.
